Alissa’s recent ceramic works are small in scale, yet explore a hybrid between the beautiful and grotesque. She is fascinated with color, pattern and texture which she chooses to display in minimal vignettes. She enjoys the freedom in working on a tiny scale which allows for her work to constantly evolve. It’s no wonder comparisons to nature are often peoples first association, as there are definite similarities to life and growth reflected in her works.
